Ben Foster - Vocal Percussion/Baritone
Voice: Funky, drum-like. Ben spits the beats, yet sings pure and smooth.
Born in South Korea, Ben grew up in St. Paul, graduated from sunny CU Boulder in 2004, and found himself back in the cities soon after. He has performed on live television, at venues from small bars to Target Center, and has sung with internationally-recognized choir VocalEssence. Throughout college Ben sang in choirs and studied voice, played drums in the rock band Two Lane Road, and discovered his versatile abilities in the CU a cappella group In the Buff. It was there where he became a huge a cappella dork. "I've always loved performing," he says, "but there's something unique and captivating about the voice." He is happiest on stage, but also enjoys the studio and arranging repertoire. Ben brings several years of rock and jazz drum set experience to his vocal percussion style, and truly views his Up 'til 2 vocal role as a drummer.
Ben is currently an HR Recruiter. He loves skiing (and misses Colorado immensely), traveling, coffee, and spending time with friends and family. Ben also drinks massive amounts of water before and during performances (to keep his chops fresh), and as a result appears to have the bladder of a one-year-old around showtime. Why that is mentioned on this page...we don't know.
